Cumbrian dairy farmers met tonight in Carlisle to discuss the pricing crisis.
There has never been such a unified voice in the farming industry than after processors and retailers pushed out further dairy price cuts for August.
Many dairy purchasers have rescinded the August cuts after public action, like that in Kendal yesterday, but many farmers are still not being paid even the cost of production.
At the meeting was Ben Berry who said “I came to this meeting to see how we can continue to push against and shout at those who are abusing farmers. I look forward to upping the ante, working with the NFU and Farmers For Action to push for a fair deal for farmers.”
