User group continue work on £500k Millom skatepark

Plans continue to come together in Millom for a massive skate and bmx park. The program is being put together by Millom Town Councillor, Brian Crawford, and is set to become one of the regions best skating venues. The user group is made up of local young people who have met regularly, choosing suppliers and designs. Together with a new band stand the project will come in at over £650k and is hoped to be funded by Copeland Energy Coast grants and receive formal planning permission from Copeland Borough Council later this year. Member of the group, South Lakes Councillor Ben Berry commented saying ” I’m really excited about how Brian has been able to put this together and get the young people involved. It’s a great blueprint for other projects elsewhere.”
