Windermere thanked for by election support

Windermere residents are being thanked today for taking part in a by election for Cumbria and South Lakeland Councils. The by election yesterday (13th October) saw Green, Conervative, Labour and Lib Dem parties battle it out.Windermere Conservative Team at the Count 2016

The Windermere result saw the Lib Dems hold on but with a reduced majority and increased vote share for both the Conservatives and Labour.

Conservative Candidate Ben Berry thanked residents for taking part: “I would like to thank everyone that voted in yesterday’s by election. Windermere is the town I love and a fantastic place to grow up, work and visit. I look forward to continuing my work to take the town forward.”

The turnout for the Windermere division was 41.5%

Windermere (Cumbria) result: LDEM (Rooke): 1009 – 52.3% (+0.7) CON (Berry): 785 – 40.7% (+1.3) LAB (Henderson): 88 – 4.6% (+4.6) GRN (Threadgold): 46 – 2.4% (-0.6)
