Over 20 young Conservatives met James Wharton MP in Lupton today for the first ever social of Westmorland and Lonsdale Conservative futures.
The day started with clay pigeon shooting at Crabtree farm and was followed by fish and chips at the Plough. James Wharton MP is the youngest Tory MP at 28 and his constituency is in Stockton South, well placed in the north east of England.
Vice chair of the group, 19 year old Rob Bowyer commented saying “there are so many young people in south lakes with conservative values, so it wasn’t hard to get people to our first event and I look forward to growing the group further.”
James Wharton MP said of the event “it’s great to see so many young people out having fun and supporting the party.”
17 year old Rebecca Taylor said “I just fancied seeing what the Conservatives, like Ben Berry and James Wharton, think and to do that at an event like this was great.”
